With over 10 years of experience maintaining all types of timber on yachts and terra-firma, we refinish timber homes, decks and balustrades across the Gold Coast. All surfaces get prepared via sanding or pressure cleaning and re-oiled using every type of timber oil. We will run you through a series of questions to not only figure the right product but to set you up for success long term.
How often does a deck need to be recoated?
Every 12 months is the short answer. A big part of why we quote decks in person, is because we love to educate our clients about how we’ll do our job and how they can best run with it once we’re done. Some areas that don’t get a lot of UV and rain can last 3+ years without much more than a mop over. Where more sun-beaten areas depending on the product may need doing bi-annually.
Do you sand the deck before sealing?
We have two main services, one as a maintenance routine where we mainly wash and then scuff the timber and decks, the other is a full sand back. Each service is great according to what is required when inspected on the day. We can customise our service to whatever is needed.
What type of oils or stains do you use?
We use every product on the market and know all of their floors and benefits. We will match the product according to what your objective is and also what you type of maintenance routine will (or won’t) look like!
Does sanding my deck reduce its lifespan?

What is the difference between regular pressure cleaning and hot water pressure cleaning?
If you can imagine the difference between washing your dishes with cold water versus hot water then it basically says it all. Less time, less pressure, less wear and tear, deeper cleaning and way more fun on a winters day, we think that the difference between hot and cold water pressure cleaning is vast and worth the tens of thousands we’ve invested in the machinery to heat your water on site to use it!

Pricing depends on the size of the job with a minimum charge in some cases where it’s a small job. We will always find a way to give you maximum value, even if it’s a smaller job. Please consult us over the phone for hourly rates which are subject to change.
What surfaces do you offer pressure cleaning for?
Houses (walls, eves, gutter faces, soffits etc), driveways, commercial properties, roof cleaning, bricks and we’ve been known to clean the occasional sun-shade or awning. We will be happy to clean whatever you have for us when we arrive and know our limits as to what can and can’t be cleaned.

How long does a roof restoration take?
What is included in the process?
The roofs are cleaned and sanitised with extremely hot water and the appropriate pressure. At times the correct cleaning solution may also be used in conjunction with the cleaning process. Following this tiles can be repaired or replaced with repointing completed as needed, screws replaced on tin and then our market leading three coat system applied in whatever colour of your choice.

Yes we are licensed painters and are insured to carry out the work we conduct, with both public liability and iCare insurance/ workers compensation policies for the workers.
How do I book exterior maintenance with FCR?
Depending on the service, we quote most appropriate to what is needed, but mostly are able to give you an idea of cost over the phone very quickly. We also have an on-line booking link tailored to each service to speed that up if you prefer. Or a general quote request link. We’re give old fashioned service when it comes to roof and deck restoration services making a site visit mandatory and produce a quote for you before we leave your driveway.
Before and After roof paint and restoration to prepare a property for sale

Here we can see a roof that has been severely neglected; it’s roofing screws are in places beginning to rust quite considerably, paint has faded or gone powdery and even been stripped completely back to a bare surface after pressure cleaning.
The process followed was to replace about 100 roofing screws, remove and replace quite a lot of silicone around inlets, exhaust pipes and where aerials etc were attached to the roof and then spray two thick coats of Gull Grey Sun Tuff Paint.
All in all, this was a complete turn-around before more costly deterioration could set-in.
